A World-Class Service Culture

Physical locations (at sea, in the desert or at the heart of a tropical jungle) and extreme conditions (isolation, altitude, temperatures) are the most immediate challenges.

Client Business Case: Sodexo and “La Poste” team up to serve the French Armed Forces abroad

Under a public-private partnership, Sodexo has teamed up with La Poste to sort and deliver mail to the 19,000 men and women deployed on French military bases abroad.

According to NATO, 30% of new army recruits do not complete their contract and 80% of premature departures are caused by issues in balancing family life and military duties.

Under a public-private partnership, Sodexo has teamed up with La Poste to sort and deliver mail to the 19,000 men and women deployed on French military bases abroad.

Thanks to its experience with Remote Sites, Sodexo, as consultant to the French Armed Forces, can pass on its experience with harsh environments and its in-depth knowledge of technical and logistical problems so as to improve the quality of life for all military personnel working in hostile conditions abroad and keep them in touch with their families.

The services offered by Sodexo and La Poste covers three main types of categories:  setting up a central sorting office for the delivery of mail, building post offices in hostile environments, and implementing an emergency action plan if the French Ministry of Defense decides to set up operations in another country.

NICOLAS JAPY EXPLAINS SODEXO'S WORLD-CLASS SERVICE

"The Remote Sites business epitomizes the spirit of world-class service we have cultivated for nearly 50 years at Sodexo. I had an experience in The Congo which is a good example of this - we were loading a train with all the equipment needed to set up a holiday camp for an oil company, when an explosion blew up the railroad tracks, making it virtually impossible to reach or build the camp hundreds of miles away in the tropical forest. In spite of this huge setback, we still managed to get everyone to the camp and set it up. I believe it is this combination of reliability and determination which characterizes our spirit of service in remote sites. The unique experiences, which we all live through together on remote sites, bring us naturally closer to our clients."
